Investigation of the Stability of Maxillary Posterior Downward and Forward Movement by Using Finite Element Analysis: Methodological Study

Objective: The maxillomandibular complex's counterclockwise movement with maxillary advancement and posterior downward repositioning was considered as one of the most unstable movements in orthognathic surgery. This study examines reliability fixation different plate-screw systems grafted nongrafted models rotation where maxilla is positioned anteriorly movement. Four forces separately these (45 125 N incisive tooth, 110 250 molar tooth). on bone screw plate system Results: application decreased load stress both similar highest measured non-grafted model using 1.5 (Screw-F, 249.81 N/mm2 ), while lowest 2.0 (Screw-G, 0.49 ) graft-applied model. Conclusion: results support view that it predicted necessity surgeries advancement. can be used safely if a gap.
